Dear Colleagues!

Starting from the very first IEEE SENSORS Conference that was held in Orlando, Florida, in 2002, the Special Sessions have always been a fundamental element in the conference program and have helped to make the conference a successful convention for hundreds of experts presenting their research work every year. Also, for this year's conference, different topics that are of interest for the scientific community will be presented in Special Sessions. Each of the Special Sessions consists of five presentations. Special Sessions are the perfect opportunity to obtain a focused view on a current research topic and to participate in in-depth discussions with other scientists.

We are serving as the Special Session Chairs at the IEEE SENSORS 2009 conference to be held in Christchurch, New Zealand. It is our pleasure to invite you to propose a Special Session for the IEEE SENSOR 2009 conference. You are encouraged to submit your proposal with a meaningful outline.

Below are some of the Special Sessions that are currently being organized for the IEEE Sensors 2009 Conference. If you would like to submit an abstract to one of these sessions or create another session, please make sure you do so before 31 March 2009 7 April 2009.
  • "Antennas for Sensors and Sensor Networks", Amir Zaghloul
  • "Encapsulation Techniques and Materials", Themistoklis Prodromakis
  • "Magnetic Sensors", Alan Edelstein
  • "Design Methodologies for Advanced Ultra Low Power Sensor and Memory Arrays", Orly Yadid-Pecht
  • "Terahertz and IR Sensing Technology", Michael Shur
  • "Sensors and Instrumentation for the Environment and Climate Change Monitoring", Subhas Mukhopadhyay
Please find on the left hand side the Special Session Organizing Guidelines and a Special Session Submission Form for your use. If you have any questions regarding the Special Sessions, please do not hesitate to contact us at anton.fuchs@tugraz.at or g.sengupta@massey.ac.nz.

We hope to receive many interesting proposals for the IEEE SENSORS 2009 conference Special Sessions.

Best regards and see you in Christchurch, New Zealand
