Guidelines for Organizing a Special Session
Special sessions are focused sessions featuring talks of leading experts in the field. The session format includes one (1) invited talk (30 minutes including discussion) and four (4) contributed talks (15 minutes each including discussion). The complete session is 1.5 hours in length.
As the procedure for Special Sessions has changed with these year's conference, please review the following carefully.
Below are some of the Special Sessions that are currently being organized for the IEEE Sensors 2009 Conference. If you would like to submit an abstract to one of these sessions or create another session, please make sure you do so before March 31, 2009.
- "Antennas for Sensors and Sensor Networks", Amir Zaghloul
- "Encapsulation Techniques and Materials", Themistoklis Prodromakis
- "Magnetic Sensors", Alan Edelstein
- "Design Methodologies for Advanced Ultra Low Power Sensor and Memory Arrays", Orly Yadid-Pecht
- "Terahertz and IR Sensing Technology", Michael Shur
- "Sensors and Instrumentation for the Environment and Climate Change Monitoring", Subhas Mukhopadhyay
Procedure
- Propose a topic for a special session and an invited speaker on the Special Sessions Submission Form.
- At the same time, submit five (5) separate abstracts - one (1) for the invited talk and four (4) for the contributed presentations. Please find the template for abstract submission in the menu on the left side.
- Submit your Special Sessions Submission Form and five (5) abstracts to ieee-sensors2009.org for review by
31 March 2009 7 April 2009.
The deadline to receive this Special Session Submission Form is 31 March 2009 7 April 2009. The Special Session Chairs, Anton Fuchs and Gourab Sen Gupta, and the Special Session Committee will review all proposals. If your Special Session Topic, Invited Speaker and four (4) support presentations are selected for presentation at the IEEE SENSORS 2009 Conference, an "official" acceptance letter will be sent to you, the organizer, and an "official invitation" letter to your proposed invited speaker. Please note that all presentations within the Special Session will be requested to submit a full paper for the technical digest and like two years, the technical digest will be distributed at the conference.
